How to learn Arabic?

First, determine your goals for learning Arabic:

If you are a beginner in Arabic and you want to learn standard Arabic, you will need to start by learning the Arabic alphabet. However, you don’t need to know the entire alphabet to start reading, writing and speaking Arabic. If you are a beginner in Arabic and you want to speak colloquial Arabic, you will need to start by learning new words, formation of sentences and move onto conversational  level gradually. In the latter, we dont teach text.

If you already have a level, you will have to learn Arabic conjugation and grammar and force yourself to speak Arabic as much as possible, because this is the only way to join the circle of Arabic speakers in both scenarios.

Second, determine which form of Arabic to learn:

  1.  Literal Arabic also called literary Arabic or classical Arabic. Learning this Arabic will allow you to understand the Quran, medieval texts, Arabic poetry and prophetic hadiths.
  1. Modern Arabic, also called Standard Arabic, which is very close to Literary Arabic. This Arabic is less strict in terms of respect for the rules. It is this Arabic which is used among the inhabitants of the various Arab countries, as well as by the written Arab press and television. Learning this Arabic is necessary if you want to communicate with all Arabic speakers, regardless of their country. It is the official language of Arab organizations such as the Arab League and the World Islamic League.
  1.  Dialectal Arabic, called darija or ‘amiyya which is an Arabic specific to each country. However, we can cite four regions: the Sham with the Syro-Lebanese (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon Palestine), the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar), the Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia, the ‘Algeria) and finally Egypt has a dialect specific to the Egyptians.

Depending on your needs, determine whether you want to learn Quranic  Arabic (literary Arabic), modern Arabic or dialect Arabic. After determining all of this proceed to the third step.

Third, determine your level before you start or continue to learn Arabic:

To learn Arabic properly you need to know your strengths and weaknesses so you can focus on them. In this way we will be able to guide you better and give you the program that corresponds to your level.
